Leopard 1A4

Lower Hull Construction

This is the MENG Leopard 1 A3/A4 kit. I am building this strictly for pleasure and out of the box.    No thrills just fun.

First steps involve the lower hull, running gear, road wheels, return rollers, driver sprocket and idler wheel. This kit also includes a torsion bar system not unlike the actual vehicle. Given the independent movement of each dog bone it would be easy to pose this vehicle on uneven terrain or traversing a small obstacle. My only concern about the torsion bars in plastic is their longevity in producing enough torque to keep the model at the proper height over a period of time.

Next came the upper hull PE pieces.

And then the rear hull plate and attached parts.
